The main focus of training at the School of Traditional Karate is Shotokan Karate.

In addition, we teach self-defense techniques and special training in women’s self-defense.

The purpose of the school is to teach self-discipline, self-control, self-defense, character building, respect and confidence so that each student can grow and become a well rounded individual.  This can be achieved through the diligent study and practice of the martial art of Karate.  Karate will enable an individual to fully develop his/her character.  Karate training helps produce a well-balanced, self-confident personality, able to avoid conflict, but highly trained and skilled to defend when necessary.

Karate allows the individual to gain physical conditioning as well as to learn the mental and physical aspects of self-defense situations.  Through Karate training, each student can develop his/her overall potential, both mentally and physically.  Through training at the School of Traditional Karate, each student will gain a thorough understanding of the physical, theoretical, and mental aspects of martial arts.
